Introduction

In 2004 FISA adopted the popular Nations cup and renamed it the World Rowing Under 23 championships. The first World Rowing Under 23 Championships was held in 2005 at ‘de Bosbaan’ in Amsterdam. Having adopted all FISA World Championship standards the event has grown into an important event on the World Rowing calendar and fulfilled its promise to provide a stepping stone for young athletes on the path to the Olympics.
On the 20st of July 2011, Amsterdam will host the World Rowing U23 Championships for the second time. This time we will undertake actions to recreate the warm Dutch atmosphere whilst testing venue setups for the World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam in 2014.

We are proud of the opportunities provided by the city of Amsterdam and the international rowing community, to enable you to experience this unique rowing course ‘de Bosbaan’ at a top location. The organising committee (OC) will do its utmost to organise a prestigious event, deserving of the international rowing contestants.

The competitors will stay in a luxurious hotel in the neighbourhood of ‘de Bosbaan’ for a reasonable price.
During the event there will be a shuttle bus service to and from ‘de Bosbaan’ and in the evening to the nearby railway stations, which enables you to visit the city of Amsterdam and enjoy the Amsterdam hospitality, canals and atmosphere.

On the website the organisation of the U23 OC will give you the necessary background information for the event.
